Romania signed the Declaration of compliance with the provisions of the Multilateral Agreement for automatic exchange of financial information, reveals a statement of the Ministry of Finance. This agreement will allow Romania that, starting 2017, to exchange information in order to identify individuals, or companies which evade the exchequer by transferring money into foreign accounts. Among the 52 signatories there are both EU member states and principalities attached to bank secrecy, as Liechtenstein, or tax havens like the British Virgin Islands. Another 30 states have engaged in a separate agreement to join these changes in 2018, among them Austria, Switzerland, the Bahamas and the United Arab Emirates. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
Information campaign on influenza
World Health Organization Office for Romania organizes a conference to mark the launch in our country of the information campaign on influenza. It is an initiative launched in Europe every year, on October 30th. During the conference to launch the information campaign on influenza, specialists, authorities and patients will discuss about the strategy of the Ministry of Health on public immunization by administering influenza vaccine, objectives, World Health Organization’s plan of action on the importance of vaccination. Vaccination of pregnant women against influenza, environment’s role in family, people’s access to vaccines and information of interest for the public on the risks posed by influenza are also other topics which will be discussed. Nearly 40 people died in Romania last year because of drug consumption – reveals a report presented yesterday by the The National Anti-Drug Agency. Most of them are in Bucharest. The data show that heroin is in first place among Romanian consumer preferences, followed by ethnobotanicals and cabnabis. „In 2013, there were 30 cases reported as deaths associated direct with drug use, at national level – 28 in Bucharest, one in Arad and one in Ilfov county, all with positive toxicological exam”, said Sorin Oprea, National Anti-Drug Agency director.
