President Klaus Iohannis met with His Royal Highness, Prince Charles
President Klaus Iohannis met yesterday at the Cotroceni Palace with His Royal Highness, Prince Charles. According to a press release, the two recalled Prince’s first visit to Sibiu and talked about protecting historical and cultural heritage of Transylvania. At the end of the meeting, the Prince of Wales invited President Iohannis to pay a visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, invitation accepted by the Romanian head of state. In the evening, Prince Charles went to Covasna, at Zalanului Valley, where he owns a property. He talked a few minutes with locals, but also with journalists. „I come back with pleasure to Romania and Transylvania. It is a special experience”, said the Prince of Wales. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
NATO exercise in Romania
Until June 12, Romania will host a NATO exercise aimed at verifying the military capabilities of gathering information in the context of the current challenges. Duting the exercise, North-Atlantic Alliance’s specialized teams will work together in solving hypothetical situations of crisis with the support of units specialized in collecting information from human sources, including behind the front. Romania is recognized in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization with the military specialization in collecting information from human sources – aknowledgement assigned by setting up a NATO Centre of Excellence, in Oradea. Day of Romanians Abroad, celebrated in Lisbon
Day of Romanians Abroad, celebrated yesterday, represents the most suitable occasion to remind us to value the Romanian language, the national symbols and the authentic traditions of our people, says Foreign Minister, Bogdan Aurescu. At the same time, Romanian Minister sent well wishes to all Romanians living abroad. An event marking the Day of Romanians Abroad was also organized in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon.
