Romania and the countries of the eastern flank of NATO want to hold a meeting in Bucharest, in November, in which to discuss additional security measures for countries in the region, according to the newspaper „Wall Street Journal”, citing sources close to the Polish presidency. The newspaper „Financial Times” also announced that the regional meeting would take place in Bucharest between November 3 and 4. Such a debate, even at a high level between the countries on the eastern flank of the Alliance, can be carried out only as a meeting of countries in the region and not under NATO auspice. Senior officials from Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the three Baltic countries are expected to participate. Poland requested recently an increased NATO military presence on the eastern flank of the Alliance to deter any aggression from Russia. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

EUROSTAT, the statistical office of the European Union, announced that Romania exported goods and services worth 27 billion euros in the first 6 months of the year, reaching a record high. The trade balance with member countries was negative, reaching almost 3.5 billion euros, while Romania’s foreign trade was relatively balanced with countries outside the Union, egistering a plus of 100 million euros. Romania’s capital, Bucharest, will have no problem in water supply, whereas the accumulation of reserves is sufficient in Arges and Dambovita rivers – announced the „Romanian Waters” National Administration. Hydrological forecast reveals that in the last 24 hours Danube’s flow at the entry in the country has been stationary. Water requirements for the population of Calafat city is ensured and there was no need to establish a plan of restrictions for that purpose. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
