Security Cabinet member, Dr. Yuval Steinitz: We hear again and again the slogan „Itbah al Yahud” (Kill the Jews, knife the Jews, death to the Jews), in the name of Allah and in the name of defending Islam, in the name of defending the El-Aksa (Al-Aqsa) Mosque. This is not new, it’s just a new wave of terrorism and violence and this time it’s totally clear that the main tendencies and the main approach here is religious approach. Defending Islam against the enemy of the mosques, against the enemy of Islam, against the Jews.
I wanted to start by quoting a part of what President Mahmoud Abbas was saying recently and to ask you who said so. Who said so: „We bless every drop of blood spilt for Allah”. And to ask if this was said by „John the Jihadist” or Abu Bakri, the head of Daesh, of ISIS – because it fits!- and then to read the full sentence and to mention that this was said recently not by the leaders of ISIS or Daesh, not by the leader of Jabhat al-Nusra, not by the leaders of Al-Qaida, not by the leaders of Hamas! But by the legitimate, so-called legitimate peace-seeking President of the Palestinian Authority: Mahmoud Abbas. It’s all about horrible, anti-Jewsih, racist incitement.
You know, ask yourselves, what can explain the fact that several kids, even thirteen year old boys, decide one morning to take a knife and to try to kill another thirteen year old boy. An overall analysis of the situation in the Middle East and the peace process? Of course, not. This is about hatred, this is about indoctrination. This boy, like many others, was indoctrinated to hate the Jews, to kill the Jews, to get rid of the Jews, by Hamas propaganda, by the Israeli Islamic Movement propaganda, but on a daily basis, by the Palestinian Authority’s education system, government-controlled TV, children programs and so on and so forth. This is the only explanation why Palestinians are dreaming about becoming martyrs killing Jews, Israeli civilians.
Two years ago, I stood here and began presentation about Palestinian hatred and incitement to the international media.Unfortunately, only one newspaper took it seriously – it was the New York Times then – and later on published a big article about the horrible, racist, anti-Jewish Palestinian incitement and also my Op-Ed, published a year and a half ago, about Palestinian hatred as the main obstacle for peace. Because this kind of incitement is not paving the way for peace but for bloodshed. And this is what we see here and now. Those Palestinian kids and young people, some of them are 20 or 30 years old, were indoctrinated: the Jews are the enemies of the Arabs, the Jews are the enemies of Islam, the Jews are the enemies of the El-Aksa Mosque and is their fulfillment, their commitment to defend the mosque. How you defend Islam and mosques? By killing the enemies of the mosques, the enemies of Islam.
Those Palestinian kids were indoctrinated, on a daily basis, in schools, in kindergarten even, in children magazines published by the Palestinian Authority, in the Palestinian TV. There is no other explanation. And although they were indoctrinated by the Palestinian Authority, and Hamas, and the Israeli Islamic Movement, they were inspired this massive use of knives – you know, they attempt to kill, to cut throats, to beahead Israeli civilians and policemen, but mostly civilians – they were inspired, of course, by what they see in Syria, in Iraq, by Daesh and other similar terrorists. This is the main obstacle for peace.
A year and a half ago, two years, when we presented it once and again, and again, and again, some people disregarded it. It’s not that important what they are teaching to their kids. Abu Mazen, by the way, denied it. Once and again, and again, and again until, a year and a half ago, suddenly, Abu Mazen admitted in a public speech, in Ramallah, in English, he hosted Israeli students, 200 of them, and he said, now I’m almost quoting, he said: „They are claiming that we have horrible incitement, anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish incitement in our schools, in our education system, in our media. We have to admit this is true. We are poisoning the atmosphere – he said poisoning – we are poisoning the atmosphere, we are poisoning the next generation”. And then he said, he added: „We have to see what we can do to stop it”. I was very encouraged. This was a year and a half ago, but since then, he did nothing to stop it, on the contrary, he even accelarated it, in his own voice, in his own website, in his own education system, in his own government-controlled media. And we have shown some recent examples but there are thousands and thousands of examples.
Actually, the situation is that Palestinian kids that are watching Palestinian TV, especially children programs – sometimes I see plays that end with the killing of Jews with kippa, with the dressing, and all the people are clapping, they hear songs about the need to kill the Jews, about the filthy Jews, the Jews that are destroying and corrupting the society as they destroyed Europe and therefore Hitler got rid of them, there are even pictures of Hitler in some the magazines, praising Hitler for understanding that Jews should be exterminated. And what we see today is the result.

Yuval Steinitz: Auzim necontenit sloganul „Itbah al Yahud!” Ucideţi evreii! Înjunghiaţi-i pe evrei! Moarte evreilor! în numele lui Allah şi în numele islamului, în numele apărării Moscheii Al-Aqsa. Nu este o noutate, este doar un nou val de terorism şi violenţă iar de această dată este foarte clar că tendinţa şi abordarea principală este cea religioasă. Apărarea islamului de duşmanii moscheilor, de evrei.
Am vrut să încep prin a cita o parte din ceea ce preşedintele Mahmoud Abbas a declarat recent şi să vă întreb cui aparţin aceste cuvinte. Cui aparţin? „Binecuvântăm fiecare picătură de sânge vărsată în numele lui Allah”. Am vrut să vă întreb dacă aceste cuvinte aparţin lui „John Jihadistul” sau lui Abu Bakri, liderul Daesh, liderul ISIS – pentru că li se potriveşte! – şi apoi citind întreaga propoziţie să menţionez că aceste lucruri au fost rostite recent nu de liderii ISIS sau Daesh, nu de liderul Frontului al-Nusra, nu de liderii Al-Qaida, nu de liderii Hamas! Ci de preşedintele legitim, aşa-zis legitim şi în căutare de pace al Autorităţii Palestiniene, Mahmoud Abbas. Nu este vorba despre altceva decât despre o incitare oribilă, rasistă, antisemită.
Întrebaţi-vă, de exemplu, care poate fi explicaţia faptului că mai mulţi tineri, printre care şi un copil de doar 13 ani, decid într-o dimineaţă să ia un cuţit şi încearcă să ucidă un alt copil de 13 ani? Este oare o reflectare a procesului de pace din Orientul Mijlociu? Bineînţeles că nu. Este vorba despre ură, despre îndoctrinare. Acest băiat, ca de altfel mulţi alţii, a fost îndoctrinat să-i urască pe evrei, să-i ucidă pe evrei, să-i elimine pe evrei de către propaganda Hamas, a Mişcării Islamice din Israel, dar cel mai mult, zi de zi, de sistemul de învăţământ din Autoritatea Palestiniană, prin televiziunea controlată de stat, prin programele pentru copii. şi aşa mai departe. Este singurul lucru care explică de ce palestinienii visează să devină martiri prin uciderea evreilor, a civililor israelieni.
Acum doi ani am vorbit aici presei internaţionale despre sentimentul de ură din rândul palestinienilor şi despre incitarea la care sunt supuşi. Din nefericire, un singur ziar a luat în serios ceea ce am prezentat – era vorba atunci de New York Times – care ulterior a publicat un articol amplu despre incitarea antisemită oribilă şi mai târziu un articol de opinie pe care l-am semnat chiar eu, acum un an şi jumătate, despre ura palestiniană ca principal obstacol în calea păcii. Acest gen de incitare nu poate deschide calea spre pace, ci spre vărsarea de sânge. Şi la acest lucru asistăm în prezent.
Acei copii palestinieni sau tineri de 20, 30 de ani, au fost îndoctrinaţi: evreii sunt duşmanii arabilor, evreii sunt duşmanii islamului, evreii sunt duşmanii moscheii sfinte Al-Aqsa şi menirea lor, jurământul lor este să apere moscheea. Cum este apărat islamul sau moscheile? Prin uciderea duşmanilor islamului şi ai moscheilor. Acei copii palestinieni au fost îndoctrinaţi zi de zi în şcoli, chiar în grădiniţe, în reviste pentru copii publicate de Autoritatea Palestiniană şi la televizor. Nu există altă explicaţie. Şi deşi au fost îndoctrinaţi de AP, de Hamas, de Mişcarea Islamică din Israel au găsit inspiraţie şi în ceea ce au văzut că fac teroriştii ISIS sau ai altor grupări în Siria şi Irak – această predilecţie pentru folosirea cuţitelor cu care atentează la viaţa civililor evrei, cu care secţionează jugulare, cu care încearcă decapitări. Aceasta este cea mai mare piedică în calea păcii.
Acum un an şi jumătate, doi ani, când am vorbit necontenit despre asta, unii au desconsiderat ceea ce am prezentat aici. Au considerat că nu e important ce li se predă copiilor palestinieni. Chiar şi Abu Mazen (M. Abbas), despre care vorbim, a negat necontenit ce se întâmplă. Asta până acum un an şi jumătate când a recunoscut brusc, în cadrul unui discurs public, în engleză, susţinut la Ramallah în faţa a 200 de studenţi israelieni pe care îi avea invitaţi, că este adevărat. A declarat, şi acum aproape citez: „Se susţine faptul că în şcolile noastre, în mass media, există o incitare oribilă împotriva evreilor, împotriva israelienilor. Trebuie să recunoaştem că este adevărat. Atmosfera este una otrăvită, iar generaţiile viitoare o respiră” Iar apoi a adăugat: „Trebuie să vedem ce se poate face pentru a stopa acest lucru”. Am fost foarte încurajat de spusele sale. Asta se întâmpla acum un an şi jumătate, dar de atunci nu a făcut nimic pentru a stopa aceste lucruri, dimpotrivă, le-a accentuat, prin propriile cuvinte, pe propriul website, prin propriul sistem de educaţie şi prin propria presă controlată de stat. Şi aţi putut vedea aici câteva exemple, dar sunt mii, mii de alte exemple.
În realitate, copiii palestinieni care se uită la televizor, în special la programele dedicate lor, văd jocuri care se încheie cu uciderea de evrei îmbrăcaţi tradiţional, cu kippa, şi văd lume care aplaudă, aud cântece despre nevoia de a ucide evreii, acei evrei nenorociţi care distrug şi corup societatea aşa cum au făcut în Europa şi din acest motiv Hitler a vrut să-i elimine. Există chiar poze ale lui Hitler în unele reviste, în care este elogiat pentru că a înţeles că evreii trebuie exterminaţi. Şi rezultatul este cel pe care-l vedem astăzi.
