Defense and national security are the areas that will receive next year the most money from the budget. According to the draft posted on the website of the Ministry of Finance, education, culture, health, home affairs and communications will also be alocated more funding. Presidential administration and the two Houses of Parliament budgets will be increased. Ministries of Labor, Foreign Affairs, Transport, Environment, Energy, Finance and Justice will receive less money. Spending will rise by almost 16 billion lei, but the government expects higher revenue than last year by over three and a half billion lei. It is estimated a growth of about four percent and a budget deficit of 3% of gross domestic product (GDP). (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

The most successful author of children’s literature of the time, Jeff Kinney, was at the National Library of Romania on Sunday. He gave autographs and talked about his latest novel, „Like the Old Times”. It is the 10th volume of the „Diary of a Wimpy Kid „, which was sold in 500,000 copies in Romania, which was released in our country at Gaudeamus Fair, organized by Radio Romania. The American author (Diary of a Wimpy Kid was named New York Times bestseller among awards and praise) Jeff Kinney is ranked first in the top best-selling newspaper „The New York Times”. Journalist Luca Niculescu will be appointed Romania’s ambassador to France
Luca Niculescu will be appointed Romania’s ambassador to France, the Presidential Administration confirmed on Sunday. The head of state will sign sometime next week the decree naming Niculescu ambassador in Paris. Luca Niculescu was born in 1971. He is a Journalism graduate and holds a master’s degree in European Journalism from the University Center for Journalism Studies in Strasbourg. Niculescu is a journalist for Radio France Internationale since 1992 and since 2000 an editor-in-chief at Radio France Internationale in Romania. Luca Niculescu was also correspondent for several French media institutions. At the moment the journalist is moderator for a TV show at private broadcaster Digi 24. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
