Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos will pay an official visit to Germany at the invitation of the chancellor Angela Merkel. On this occasion the Romanian Prime Minister would hold a series of meetings with members of the Bundestag and with the Romanian diaspora in Germany. The working visit to Berlin, scheduled on January 7, has a lower economic dimension because Deputy Prime Minister Costin Borc attended recently a Romanian-German business forum and the visit will focus in particular on strengthening bilateral relations and clarifing common objectives of the European agenda, said the Government’s spokesman, Dan Suciu. The delegation led by Prime Minister Dacian Cioloş will include Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu and Head of Prime Minister’s Chancellery Dragos Tudorache. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Bucharest-Ilfov region had the largest contribution to export, almost 22%, in the first 8 months of last year, according to data reported by the Ministry of Economy. Second place, with 17%, was the West region, then the South-Muntenia region, with 16%, and the Centre region, with 14%. The companies in Bucharest-Ilfov region recorded an export growth of about 15% in 2015 compared to 2014. The exports’ total value in January-August 2015 was almost 36 billion euros, up by about 5% as compared to the same period of 2014. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Sudden frost, blizzard and snows affect southern and southeastern Romania. For ten counties in southern Banat, in Oltenia and in western Muntenia a yellow code bad weather is in force which will be valid until today at noon. The alert could be expanded, announced General Director of the National Meteorological Administration, Ion Sandu. „Snowfalls will continue in the south and southwest. It is likely that this meteorological information concerning this area to be extended until Tuesday”, said Ion Sandu. Meteorologists say that starting on Wednesday the temperatures could reach their normal limits for January, that means positive during the day and minus 6 degrees during the night.
