Foreign ministers in nine Eastern NATO members are meeting in Bucharest
Foreign Ministers from nine NATO members from the Eastern flank – Bulgaria, The Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary – are meeting in Bucharest, in Tuesday, an initiative by the Romanian and Polish diplomacy. Ministers will discuss about the security situation in the region and will analyze the level of implementation of decisions taken at the NATO Warsaw summit. Ms. Rose Gottemoeller, the new Under Secretary General of NATO, who is in Bucharest, will also take part in the meeting. She is seen as a specialist in relations with Russia and she used to be Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security for the U.S. State Department. Foreign ministers and chiefs of ministerial delegations of the new allied states from the Eastern Flank will be welcomed at the Cotroceni Palace by the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis.
Public debates on the possible removal of the license fee for public Radio and Television in Romania
Famous journalists, opinion leaders, jurists, economists, representatives of the civil society, academies and trade unions have warned politicians about the major danger of a possible abolishment of the direct funding of Radio Romania and the Romanian Television through the direct contribution of the Romanian population. That was the conclusion of a public debate on the possible removal of the license fee for public Radio and Television in Romania and on the implications that this decision pf the Parliament might have, if the bill is signed by President Klaus Iohannis.
The project of the Great Laser in Magurele has been presented on Tuesday
The project of the Great Laser in the Romanian town of Magurele has been presented to representatives of the civil society and business people which are interested in a contribution to this sector. The head of nuclear security at the Institute of Physics and Nuclear Energy, Mitica Dragusin, has said that he underlined the necessities that are required for the building hosting the facilities and presented the high power laser and the Gamma system, as well as the maintenance of the equipment and the spare parts.
