The United States US Ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm noticed the military contribution of our country in the theaters of operations. During a visit to the town of Caraş Severin, Ambassador Hans Klemm talked about economic cooperation in the defense industry and about the performance of Romanian troops in Afghanistan in the context of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States. Hans Lemm: „It is very, very important. Right now Romania is the fourth most important contributor to the NATO’s Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan, higher than the United Kingdom. American militaries consider their Romanian partners very, very valuable. Our soldiers are fighting next to each other in Afghanistan for the security and stability of that country”. This year Romania participates at the NATO mission in Afghanistan with over 600 soldiers. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
President Klaus Iohannis has promulgated the bill for Patriot missiles acquisition
President Klaus Iohannis promulgated on Monday the bill regarding the acquisition of Patriot missiles, according to the Presidential Administration. The normative act was adopted last Tuesday by the Chamber of Deputies, the decisional forum, one day after the Senate’s go-ahead. Defence Minister Mihai Fifor announced recently that until December 1 the contract with the American side would be signed and the first of the seven missile systems will be paid by the end of the year. A Turkish ship with clandestine migrants was detected in the territorial waters of Romania
A Turkish ship with clandestine migrants was detected last night in the territorial waters of Romania, near the city of Constanta. Given the weather conditions at sea, the ship with migrants spent several hours at the shelter of a cargo which otherwise alerted the authorities. According to the first information, there were 60 migrants on board. The vessel was towed and escorted by two Coast Guard ships to the port of Constanta, where landing, sorting and identification of those on board will be done. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
