National Defense Minister Mihai Fifor started a two-day visit to Belgrade. He will meet with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vulin to discuss important issues related to the regional security situation and about the cooperation in the defence area between Romania and Serbia. According to the Romanian Defence Minister, Mihai Fifor will be accompanied by the Chief of the Romanian Army’s General Staff, General Nicolae Ciuca. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
Protests in Victory Square
Several hundred people gathered yesterday evening in Victoria Square in the capital Bucharest to protest against proposals to amend the justice laws and against the government’s economic policies. They chanted anti-government and anti-SDP slogans and unfurled a huge flag of the European Union (EU). Rallies and protest marches also took place in Brasov, Sibiu and Cluj towns, where hundreds of people have expressed their dissatisfaction with the central government’s decisions for Romania. Industrial output prices rose by 0.7% in October 2017
Industrial output prices rose by 0.7% in October 2017 compared to the previous month, while compared to October 2016 they increased by 4%, according to data published today by the National Institute of Statistics. As regards major industrial groups, the prices for energy industry increased most, followed by intermediate goods, capital and durable goods. Current use goods industry decreased by 0.1%.
