President Klaus Iohannis welcomed at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace defense ministers and heads of ministerial delegations from the nine member states on NATO’s eastern flank, present in Bucharest for the B9 meeting. The Head of State said that the NATO summit in Brusseles this year will be a milestone in adjusting the Alliance for the current security challenges and threats. Romanian President welcomed the progress made with implementing the Forward Presence, underlining the need for decisions to be adopted at the Brussels summit to ensure the unity, coherence and consolidation of allied measures on the Eastern Front as part of NATO’s deterrence and defence posture. Defense ministers and heads of ministerial delegations from the nine member states on NATO’s eastern flank sent similar views on the agenda of the NATO Summit in Brussels with a focus on the need to continue the efforts to strengthen the forward presence on the eastern flank, to increase its efficiency. The European Commission proposed the establishment of a European Labor Authority that could be hosted by Romania
Romania has a new chance to host a European agency, after the he European Commission (EC) proposed the establishment of a European Labor Authority, which could be created next year. The head of European Commission representation in Romania Angela Cristea explained that the new agency will provide as clear as possible information about rights and obligations on the single market for workforce and for employers and it will provide a better cooperation platform between member states in the field of workforce. „I know that Romania wants to host such an agency, so this can also represent a point of interest for the Romanian state”, said Angela Cristea. Romania and Poland support each other within the North Atlantic Alliance
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that his country will support Romania to host a NATO Army Corps command in the future. The Polish official stressed that Romania and Poland support each other within the North Atlantic Alliance. „During the talks of the defense ministers in Brussels on future amendments to NATO military command structures, I told Minister Mihai Fifor that we will support each other”, said Mariusz Blaszczak. „The reform of the Alliance envisages a number of important new commands. There are no obstacles for these aspirations. Both Poland and Romania have aspirations to host these commands”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
