The conference „The European Semester: Launching Specific Country Recommendations for Romania”, organized by the Representation of the European Commission in Romania, is taking place now. The event discusses the recommendations for our country published on June the 5-th in the context of the European Semester and the Europe 2020 Strategy. Representatives of the European Commission and the ministries involved in the European Semester are invited to attend. The community forum warned that the new pensions law, adopted last December, could generate sustainability risks to public finances. The Public Finances Minister, Eugen Teodorovich, will today head the meeting of the Council of the European Union for Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN) in Luxembourg. The agenda of this last meeting of the Romanian Presidency of the Council includes topics such as the Banking Union, the European Semester, the Stability and Growth Pact, the European Commission Communication „A Clean Planet for All”, the Action Plan on Bad Credit, the G20 Meeting in Japan, consolidated financial transaction tax. The largest military exercise this year in Romania continuesin Tulcea and Mureş, with over 13.000 soldiers from 14 NATO member states attending.
