RADOR (27 iunie) – Constitutional Court’s validation of the referendum impels all political forces to urgently implement the citizens’ vote, said Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis. In a press release, the head of state asks the Parliament to swiftly transpose all the provisions stipulated in the National Political Agreement, which it has initiated in order to fully respect the will of the Romanian citizens expressed at the referendum. According to the president, the ruling coalition PSD-ALDE, which refused to sign this agreement, must „stop defying the Romanians”. USR is asking the Romanian Ombudsman to refer the Constitutional Court about the Administrative Code
RADOR (27 iunie) – The USR is asking the People’s Advocate or Romanian Ombudsman to refer the Constitutional Court about the Administrative Code, recently adopted by the Government through an emergency ordinance. USR Senator Florina Presada cited a number of reasons such as the lack of urgency of the adopted normative act or the establishment of special pensions for certain categories of local elected representatives. RADOR: Romanian lawmakers pass controversial pension law
RADOR (26 iunie) – Romania’s Chamber of Deputies re-examined and passed the new pension law after the Constitutional Court objected to some of its provisions. Although there was no vote against, the opposition criticized the new pension law, described as an electoral process. One of the initiatiors of this new pension bill, Lia Olguţa Vasilescu, however, has assured that no pension will fall and that the standard retirement age will not change./cstoica
