The Interior Minister has taken special measures to ensure public safety during summer season. Over one thousand fire fighters from 23 counties have been sent to the sea shore to back the saving teams for the whole summer. A special level of attention is given to possible situation that can occur on A2 or A4 highways so, every weekend, more fire fighter teams insure interventions in emergency situations, including medical ones, in Călăraşi, Constanţa, Ialomiţa and Bucharest-Ilfov. Romanian police also took special measures, therefore, until September 4th, over 180 police officers will be in Constanţa. They will work to fight street crime, drug trafficking and consuming, prostitution and pandering. Also, they will have several campaigns to inform tourists about preventing thefts from hotel rooms, cars, form the beach, preventing children disappearances and driving under alcohol influence.
NSI reconfirms a 5% growth of the Romanian economy in the first trimester of 2019, compared to the same period in 2018
On Monday, The National Statistics Institute (NSI) reconfirmed the 5% growth of the Romanian economy in the first trimester, compared to the same period in 2018. Compared to the last trimester of 2018, the real growth was of 1,3%. Romanian authorities estimate, for this year, a growth of 5,5% of the economy, while international financial institutions count on a growth under 4 %..
A French paraglider pilot was found in Greşu, two days after he went missing
The French paraglider pilot that has been searched for by military fire fighters, police officers and mountain rescuers was finally found in a guesthouse in Greşu, Vrancea county. Dozens of military fire fighters, policemen, and locals have looked for the French citizen on Sunday and Monday. He was flying from Braşov towards Comandău when he disappeared on Sunday, around 15:30, between Păpăuţi and Chiuruş. The pilot complained about pain in the cervical region and he will be hospitalized in Focşani.
