High competition in medicine, in Bucharest, Iaşi and Târgu Mureş
Great competition for medicine! Admission to faculty is taking place today. More than 3,000 candidates enrolled in the „Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, where there are approximately 1,100 places in the budget. And in Târgu Mureş there is a lot of medical competition – there are almost four candidates on the spot. In Iaşi there were 2,400 people, and in some specializations the number of files exceeded almost seven times the number of places. Reporter: Cristina Vartolomei – The biggest competition is for general healthcare, where 6,8 candidates are on the spot. The license period lasts for four years and not six, as for the other specializations, and in the end graduates will have an assistant and a doctoral degree. At nutrition and dietetics specialization there are 5.4 candidates on the spot. General medicine is also one of the most desirable faculties this year. Nearly half of the 2,400 candidates wishing to study at UMF Iasi are enrolled here. Because there is also a bigger disposition, there is a competition of 3.7 candidates on budget place. At the opposite end is the Faculty of Pharmacy, where the places were not occupied. The admission exam at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi will last for three hours, and the mark obtained will count 90% at the final average, along with the Bacalaureat media.

A Romanian four-helicopter detachment is ready for the UN mission in Mali
Romania will support the United Nations in assisting the Government of the Republic of Mali to continue implementing the Peace Agreement with a four-helicopter Romanian detachment. It was evaluated by a commission of the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations. The conclusions of the assessment certified that Romanians are ready to participate in the mission.
