The Romanian Mail Services have announced that they will remain closed beginning this Thursday. Thursday is a legal holiday, The Assumption of Mary, and it has been decided that Friday and Saturday will be free days for Mail employees, that they will make up for at the end of August. Therefore, it is possible that items delivered by mail will be late on arrival.
The Government will adopt a project to modify the road traffic laws
In today’s meeting, the government will adopt a project for modifying the road traffic laws by introducing tougher sanctions for drivers who inadequately use the phones or other devices that could distract them from driving. According to the document prepared by the Interior Minister, drivers will be allowed to use their mobile phone or any other device connected by headphones, that is using hands-free device or wireless systems in the car, as long as the phone is not held while driving. The measure will come into effect two months after it will be published in the Official Gazette and, meanwhile, the Police will modify and clarify the regulations to apply the new rules.
The two Romanian teams have won 10 prizes at the Astronomy and Astrophysics International Olympics in Hungary
The two Romanian teams that attended the 13th edition of the Astronomy and Astrophysics International Olympics in Hungary won 10 prizes, including two golden, four silver and four bronze medals. The golden medal ant the absolute first prize at the Planetarium test were obtained by David-Corneliu Turturean, from Suceava. The competition was attended by 200 students in 44 countries.
The inflation rate has risen to 4,1% in July 2019
The annual inflation rate has risen to 4,1%, in July 2019, from 3,84 in June, according to data centralized by the National Statistics Institute. The inflation has risen due to the 5,51% appreciation of alimentary goods, the 4,11% price rising for services and 3,44% price increase of the non-alimentary goods. The Governor of the National Bank of Romania, Mugur Isărescu, announced last week that the Central Bank maintained the estimate for the end of this year at 4,2% and estimates an inflation of 3,4% for the end of next year./aionita
