Record figures in the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic
New record figures were recorded yesterday in Romania in the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic. 1.030 cases were reported, the highest number so far of most tests performed in a single day, almost 25.000. The total number of infections has exceeded 40.000, and over 5.100 patients are hospitalized, of which 293 in Intensive Care. Two prison guards have been confirmed with the new coronavirus
Two penitentiary police officers from the central apparatus of the National Administration of Penitentiaries have been confirmed with the new coronavirus. They carry out their activity within the departments of Human Resources Management, respectively Security of Possession and Penitentiary Regime. During the activity, the two wore protective equipment, and once the disease started, they did not show up for work – the institution states. The people they came in contact with have also been taken out of business and will remain at home. The localities Cartojani, from Giurgiu, and Gornet, from Prahova were put in zonal quarantine
The localities Cartojani, from Giurgiu county, and Gornet, from Prahova counity, have been put in zonal quarantine since yesterday, due to the increase in the number of diseases with the new coronavirus. In Gornet there are 15 cases of infection and in Cartojani, 32. There are also 37 people who came in contact with patients. Also, in Argeș County, the Committee for emergency situations evaluates in the following days the situation in 12 localities, including the municipality of Pitești, and if the number of cases does not decrease, the zonal quarantine would be established. According to the law, the measure is taken in localities where the disease rate exceeds three cases per 1.000 inhabitants. However, even in this situation, the law allows the transport of goods, as well as the entry and exit of people who do not live in the perimeter, but who carry out economic activities or work in areas essential to community life.
