Bucharest has been in the „red scenario” since two days: protective masks are mandatory also in public places outside. The infection rate reached 3.23 cases per thousand inhabitants in the capital yesterday. COVID-19: The current situation in Romania
3.400 new cases of COVID-19 were reported yesterday in Romania, out of almost 30.000 tests performed. More than 10.000 people are hospitalized, of which 768 are in Intensive Care units. There were also 65 deaths, bringing the number of people who lost their lives since the beginning of the pandemic to almost 6.000. Last week, according to the weekly surveillance report by the Institute of Public Health, the upward trend in the number of new cases continued, but at a more moderate pace. Almost a third of the new diseases were in Bucharest, Iaşi, Cluj, Timiş and Dolj. One in 32 cases was among medical staff, and over 95% of the deceased had at least one associated comorbidity./opopescu
4.848 new cases of coronavirus infection
The authorities recently announced 4.848 new cases of coronavirus infection, out of 37.000 tests, the total exceeding 191.000 diseases since the beginning of the pandemic. Most new cases in the last 24 hours were registered in Bucharest, 650, followed by the counties of Cluj, 343, and Mureș, 234. 69 deaths were also reported, the total number being 6.065. There are currently 766 patients in Intensive Care units. To date, more than 137.000 people have been healed./opopescu
