Romania has issued alerts for non-compliant masks from China
Romania issued through the EU’s RAPEX system another 4 alerts for non-compliant masks from China already on the maket. The products bear the CE mark, but are not certified as protective equipment by a relevant body, so they may not meet the health and safety requirements – according the alert sent in our country. Specifically, the masks do not comply with the regulation on personal protective equipment and the relevant European standard, although the packaging is said to comply. The authorities recommend withdrawing from the market and warn economic operators in the field to consult the ANPC and European Commission websites before placing such products on the market, in order to ensure that they are not included in the category of products banned from marketing./opopescu
10.108 new cases of coronavirus infection in Romania
The authorities have announced 10.108 new cases of coronavirus infection, out of nearly 37.000 tests performed. The balance thus exceeds 393.000 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, but almost 70% of patients have recovered. Most new cases in the last 24 hours were registered in Bucharest, 1.473. 167 deaths were also reported, and 1.131 patients are currently being admitted to Intensive Care units./opopescu
One third of Romanians would accept to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus
Only a third of Romanians would accept be vaccinated against the new coronavirus, if there was this possibility, in the first part of next year. The data are contained in a research conducted by telephone by the Group of Advanced Socio-Behavioral Studies. Regarding the existence of the virus, an important percentage, respectively 76% of the interviewed Romanians believe that it is real, 12% consider it an invention, and another twelve percent could not give an answer. Although almost two-thirds of Romanians are convinced that a new period of total closure will follow after the December 6 elections, more than half of them do not agree with another general quarantine, while a third say the measure would be necessary/opopescu
