80.000 people vaccinated yesterday, in Romania

More than 80,000 people were vaccinated yesterday in Romania, a record number. Most doses used were from Pfizer, almost 62.000, followed by AstraZeneca, almost 9.900 doses and Moderna, over 9.000. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign in our country, at the end of last year, over 3.9 million people have been vaccinated, 2.4 million of them have also had the second dose. Yesterday, the number of new cases of COVID-19 dropped to 4.076, out of more than 37.000 tests performed within 24 hours. The situation remains critical in the intensive care units, where 1.521 patients are hospitalized. There were also 164 deaths associated with the new coronavirus. (RADIO ROMANIA)

A first transport of 60.000 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines has arrived in Romania, but they will be stored until a decision is made on immunization with this serum at European level, according to information on the appearance of blood clots on some patients who have been given it in other countries of the world. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine has not been used in the European Union so far, although it has been licensed and the United States and South Africa have suspended its use. Also in the context of side effects after immunization, Denmark has completely given up vaccination with the British-Swedish serum AstraZeneca. Copenhagen authorities have explained that side effects such as thrombosis are rare but serious. The European Commission is considering signing contracts with companies using messenger RNA technology, such as Pfizer and Moderna, next year. (RADIO ROMANIA)

Over 73.000 companies in the HoReCa sector could benefit from a state aid scheme

More than 73.000 companies in the HoReCa sector, whose activity has been affected in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, could benefit from a state aid scheme, according to a draft order put up for public debate by the Ministry Economy. The amount allocated is estimated at 500 million euros, and the money is provided from the state budget. The scheme will run until December 31, and payments will be made by June 30 next year, within the budget appropriation. The maximum amount of state aid that can be granted to a beneficiary is 800.000 euros, it is shown in the document published by the Ministry.
