More than 33 tons of plastic waste were stopped at the entrance to Romania
More than 33 tons of plastic waste, which should have arrived from Bulgaria to Belgium and Germany, were stopped at the entrance to Romania by the border police from Giurgiu and the representatives of the environmental guard. The waste was in two means of transport, driven by two bulgarian citizens, and the checks revealed irregularities in the transfer documents. The number of COVID-19 cases in Romania continues to double
The number of COVID cases reported daily in Romania continues to double from one week to the next. Yesterday, more than 16,600 new cases and another 56 deaths were announced. However, the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, says that the mortality generated by COVID-19 is currently up to ten times lower than in October, when a similar number of cases was registered. On the other hand, the interest for vaccination remains low, according to the latest assessment. Only about 4,500 romanians had the first dose in 24 hours. (RADIO ROMANIA NEWS)
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă welcome France’s willingness to join NATO troops in Romania
President Klaus Iohannis welcomed in a Twitter post the announcement of his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, regarding France’s readiness to participate in NATO’s strengthened military presence in Romania. The head of state specified that the Romania-France Strategic Partnership will thus be strengthened on the Eastern Flank in the Black Sea region. Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă also welcomes the announcement by the President of France regarding the readiness of this country to contribute with NATO troops on the Romanian territory and appreciates that this represents a proof of fraternity in the context of the Strategic Partnership between the two states.
