The Mayor of Baia Mare Catalin Chereches has said that 250 orphan children from Ukraine are due to be brought to Maramures, where they will receive accommodation and care, with the help of the City Hall, whose representatives are joining a humanitarian transport to the town of Ivano Frankivsk.
Children are aged between 2 and 17 and are in urgent need of support, accommodation, food, medical and educational services, care and protection. The Baia Mare City Hall has opened a center to collect aid from donations and has initiated the campaign called „Baia Mare opens its heart to Ukraine”
