France will face a new heat wave in the coming days, with temperatures that will exceed 40 degrees. According to forecasters, the peak of this wave will be reached on Tuesday or Wednesday next week and it could be one of the most intense heatwave episodes in the Hexagon this summer. Seven French departments are already under code orange alerts, with a further 12 to be added on Friday. Temperatures in southern France could reach 41 degrees this weekend, with the heat set to move north with 35 degrees forecast for Paris. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel information for Romanians who are in, transiting or intending to travel to France and recommends consulting the website of the French meteorological service. The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denis Şmihal, is on his way to Bucharest. A meeting with Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu is scheduled for lunch. One of the topics discussed will be about the increase in the volume of grain from Ukraine that transits our country, accompanied by increased measures to protect Romanian farmers, as the Prime Minister declared at the opening of the government meeting on Friday.
Marcel Ciolacu: We will discuss aspects related to regional security in the context of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. We will also address our efforts, Romania’s, regarding the transit of Ukrainian grains to ensure access to food, from now on, worldwide, but also issues related to the bilateral agenda to protect Romanian farmers and the rights of Romanian minorities in Ukraine.
