Bucharest hosts the largest competition in robotics in Europe
The largest robotics competition in Europe has started on Friday in Bucharest and it is organized by the Politehnica University. The event brings together over 230 teams and almost a thousand participants from 19 countries. The role of robotics in education, medicine, industry or the environment and how these technologies transform the future are topics of debate at this year’s edition. At the same time, the ROBOCHALLENGE will take place within the competition, a contest with several tests in which 650 robots were registered.
The Romanian product „Salinate de Turda” has been included in European Commission’s list of goods with Protected Geographical Indication
The European Commission has approved the registration of the product „Salinate de Turda” in the list of goods with Protected Geographical Indication. It is the thirteenth Romanian product recognized and registered at European level. „Salinate de Turda” is a preparation of smoked and dried pork meat, obtained by means of a process of wet salting with natural brine. The product is marketed under different names such as: pork neck, cutlet, breast and leg and is presented packaged or as whole or sliced pieces. Other Romanian products registered at the European level are the plum jam from Topoloveni, the Danube smoked mackerel and the salted cheese from Sibiu.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced on Thursday evening that a fourth citizen with dual Israeli and Romanian citizenship, residing in the State of Israel, is being held hostage in the Gaza Strip. The information was provided following checks carried out by the Romanian authorities, based on the information sent by the Israeli authorities. The Embassy of Romania in Tel Aviv and the Consulate General of Romania in Haifa are in close contact with the Israeli authorities on this issue.
