The number of crimes of economic and financial evasion is increasing

The number of crimes of economic and financial evasion is increasing significantly, according to a report published by the Romanian Police. IGPR data show that in the first four months of the year, almost 3,000 more economic-financial crimes were detected than in the same period in 2023, which means an increase of over 20%, and the biggest increase of almost 65% was to tax evasion crimes. On the other hand, the number of thefts decreased slightly by 5%, and the number of robberies decreased by about 14%. The downward trend in the number of events affecting road safety is also maintained. The figures have improved by several percentages both in terms of serious accidents, as well as the number of dead and seriously injured people.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the death of two young women of Romanian nationality, following a strong flood that occurred in the province of Udine in Italy. The spokesman of the ministry, Radu Filip, sent his condolences to the families of the two victims, who disappeared on Friday in the waters of the Natisone river, and says that the Italian authorities are continuing the search for the third person, who was reported missing, a young man of Romanian nationality .

The representatives of the consular office constantly maintain the dialogue with the local authorities in order to obtain information regarding the search operations for the third missing person, as well as with the families of the deceased Romanian citizens, being prepared to provide consular assistance according to requests and according to skills.
The bodies of the young people were found at Premariacco, one 700 meters and the other 1,000 meters downstream from where they were taken by the swirling waters.

There is also a risk of flooding until Tuesday noon, on the rivers of 15 hydrographic basins in Transylvania and Oltenia; hydrological phenomena can occur with greater probability and intensity on some small rivers in Cluj, Bihor, Alba, Arad, Hunedoara and Timiș counties./aionita
