During the summer, the flow of people passing through Giurgiu Customs increases considerably and because the temperatures are high and the waiting times are long, many people need medical care. To come to their aid, the Local Inspectorate for Emergency Situations put into operation a SMURD crew at the border that will remain there until September 15.

Cristian Stroiescu, platoon adjutant: Complete crew, three parametrics. We can provide first aid at the scene or transport them to the emergency department. The SMURD ambulance is located in a visible place, at the entrance to the country, so that citizens who need first aid can easily see us.
Paramedics were requested to intervene in several medical cases.
Cătălin Pascal, platoon leader: Some with certain intoxications due to the road, fainting states, sitting in the car for a long time in the heat, you can imagine, such a long way. The most prone were the elderly.

A weekend of electronic music festivals – Saga in Bucharest and Neversea in Constanţa – is coming up, and the employees of the Ministry of the Interior are on duty to prevent any unwanted events.
