The Coalition of Organizations of Patients with Chronic Diseases from Romania joins the Federation of the National Disability Council in its efforts to defend the rights of people with such diseases, who are declared to be „deeply” affected by the changes in the public pension system. The coalition announces that it will also participate in the protests, as a sign of solidarity with people with disabilities and demands that the injustice that the legislative amendment does to these people be corrected. In a press release, it is stated that the current law does not recognize the differentiated contributions of people with disabilities, so their pensions have been substantially reduced. People with disabilities who have contributed to the pension system with significant efforts, overcoming physical, psychological and social barriers, are now penalized, states the Coalition of Organizations of Patients with Chronic Diseases.
