Emergency measures for the population affected by torrential rains, in several counties
Mobile camps were located in Galati, Iasi and Vaslui counties. The Ministry of Health took the first emergency measures to vaccinate the population against hepatitis A and tetanus in the communes affected by the floods. The government has announced that it will allocate funds to help rebuild homes and has also approved the removal of light construction, water and food from state reserves. At this moment, at the level of Galati county, road traffic is restricted on a national road DN 25 and on two county roads. Meanwhile, in Galati County, students from 25 schools will not go to classes today and tomorrow, as announced by the Ministry of Education.
The chief EU budget negotiator, MEP Siegfried Mureşan, will ask for a more flexible multiannual budget
The chief negotiator for the Union budget, the MEP, Siegfried Mureşan, announced that he will demand that the multiannual budget be more flexible, so that we can act more quickly in case of calamities, such as the floods in Romania. Siegfried Mureşan said that the damage caused must be compensated and that the European Union, through the Solidarity Fund and the Civil Protection Mechanism, will come to the support of Romanians and Europeans from other member states. But, said the European Parliament’s chief budget negotiator, there is a need for faster mobilization and more funds, because currently, the maximum amounts for unforeseen, calamity situations are adopted once every seven years, through the budget multiannual Union, which offers too little flexibility for financing according to needs.
