Four million euros in PAID funds for flood damages
Damages of 1 million euros went to people affected by floods in Romania’s eastern counties of Galați and Vaslui, according to data issued by insurance officials. However, only under 440 such requests were reported at a time when the number of homes affected hit between 6,000 – 7,000. PAID chief Nicoleta Radu says that state aid was still a solution. „However, people should understand the need of signing a home insurance”, Ms. Radu said as she called on Romanian authorities to accelerate their efforts of persuading people to do so.
