The first priority is to promote the security of our countries said the American ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm in the city of Targu Jiu. In the same time, he praised Romania for allotting 2 percent of GDP on defence. Mister Klemm also said that the priority is to promote democracy, stressing that the United States welcomes Romania’s commitment to strengthen democratic institutions. „The first priority”, said Hans Klemm, „is to promote our countries’ security. We are blessed that both the United States and Romania have the vision to make the necessary investments in our security. The United States of America welcomes Romania’s decision to allocate 2% of GDP on defense. We have an effective cooperation between intelligence services and law enforcement institutions that allows us to fight terrorism, organized crime, cross-border crime, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, drug trafficking and human trafficking, but also the hostile intentions of the countries bordering Romania to undermine the democratic governance”. Petrol and diesel are more expensive on Romanian market than the EU average
Romania is among the few countries in Europe that extracts oil, has large refining capacity and exports fuels to neighboring countries. Instead, petrol and diesel have become more expensive on Romanian market than the EU average and this before taxes are applied. Therefore, Romanian Competition Council will analyze the situation, said its president Bogdan Chiritoiu. „We want to understand”, said Bogdan Chiritoiu, if there are problems related to legislation, if there are certain errors which Romanian state may have made, or there are problems linked with firms’ behavior which could lead to sanctions. „Listen to 5 minutes of classical music” campaign runs from today until the end of March
„Listen to 5 minutes of classical music” campaign – a Radio Romania Music project to promote this art – runs from today until the end of March. Every day in crowded spaces, such as hipermarkets or shopping malls, unusual places for classical music audition, recordings of well-known works will be broadcast aimed at opening this sonant universe to the large public. „Listen to 5 minutes of classical music” is one of the major educational and cultural project of Radio Romania. It started in 2010 and since then takes place twice a year, in March and October. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
