President Klaus Iohannis considers that the report regarding the managerial activity of the National Anticorruption Directorate lacks clarity
President Klaus Iohannis, the only one able to change Laura Codruta Kovesi from the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) leadership, pointed out that he maintains his positive view and that he was pleased with the work of the DNA. In a press release of the Presidential Administration, as a first reaction to the proposal regarding the dismissal of the Chief Prosecutor of DNA made by Minister of Justice Tudorel Toader, the Head of State considers that the report regarding the managerial activity of the National Anticorruption Directorate lacks clarity. This is the reason for which the document will be analyzed in detail by the presidential administration departments. The reaction of the presidency comes after Minister Tudorel Toader announced that he had initiated the revocation procedure of the Chief Prosecutor of DNA. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
Romania has been warned that it will be sanctioned for going beyond air pollution standards
European Commissioner for Environment, Karmenu Vella, will meet today in Bucharest with representatives of the mayors in Romania on organizing the event „Green Week 2018”. He met yesterday with the Minister of the Environment, Gratiela Gavrilescu. After these talks she announced that Bucharest will have an integrated air quality plan to be approved at the latest by the end of May. Along with eight other member countries, Romania has been warned by the commission that it will be sanctioned for going beyond air pollution standards, in particular at emissions of fine particles and nitrogen dioxide, in Bucharest, Iasi and Brasov. The Environment Minister presented the European Commissioner a plan of measures to improve the situation. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
Soldiers of 30th „Carpathian Eagles” Protection Force Battalion will be in command of the missions carried out around Kandahar
Starting from tomorrow soldiers of 30th „Carpathian Eagles” Protection Force Battalion will be in command of the missions carried out around Kandahar, Afghanistan. In the last month they took on missions from their colleagues, the soldiers of the 280th Infantry Battalion Fearless Hearts, who will return to Romania after a mission of almost 7 months in the Afghan desert. A difficult period in the theater of operations is represented by the parliamentary elections which will take place in summer, when the presence of the insurgency will also intensify in Romanian military’s area of operations.
