Prime Minister Viorica Dancila met with the President of the United Nations General Assembly Miroslav Lajčák
The President of the United Nations General Assembly Miroslav Lajčák had talks with Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila. The two officials exchanged views on some topical issues included on the agenda of the UN General Assembly and discussed about the impact of climate change. Prime Minister Viorica Dancila also referred to Romania’s framework for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which she says will contribute to building a balanced society. Romania-US Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership
Romania and the United States of America reiterated in a joint statement the commitments made under the Strategic Partnership and announced that they have agreed to work together on a range of issues, especially in defense, energy and commerce. The Governments of Romania and the United States of America have committed themselves to working together in NATO in support of deterrence and allied solidarity. The American side welcomed the consistent investments of Romania in developing the capabilities of its armed forces, resulting in an increased contribution to allied security, reveals the joint statement. The statement comes in the context of the 6th annual edition of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue between Romania’s Government and the Government of the United States of America that took place in Bucharest. The delegations were led by Vice Prime Minister for Romania’s Strategic Partnerships’ Implementation Ana Birchall and Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Wess Mitchell. European Commission approved the funding for Campia Turzii – Targu Mures motorway project
European Commission approved on Tuesday the funding for Campia Turzii – Targu Mures motorway project. The European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Cretu, announced that the amount allocated is 248 million euros, adding that this money will now come into the national budget to be used for building this part of the motorway. The project includes 51.8 km of highway, two lanes on each direction, which is part of the 9th Pan-European Corridor Rhine-Danube which connects Strasbourg to Constanta. The project is to be completed by October 2019. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
