President Klaus Iohannis will attend the European Council meeting in Brussels, tomorrow and Friday. On the agenda of the meeting are, again, European coordination in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the process of economic recovery of the Union or the management of the phenomenon of migration and the relationship with Russia. The President of Romania will also participate in the Euro Summit in an extended format, which will address the economic challenges for the Eurozone in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the progress regarding the banking union and the capital markets union. Sălaj County will be under a yellow heatwave code
Sălaj County will be, today, under a yellow heatwave code, and labor inspectors warn employers in the construction sector to protect their employees. Labor inspectors announce on-the-spot checks and the application of sanctions where appropriate.
According to the current legislation, employers are obliged to ensure minimum conditions for maintaining the health of employees, respectively: reducing the intensity and pace of physical activities and ensuring ventilation in the workplace, alternating dynamic and static effort or working periods with those of rest in shady places, providing water – two to four liters per person per shift – providing personal protective equipment and even showers. Also in order to prevent occupational diseases in conditions of extreme temperatures, employers must seek early detection of employees who have contraindications to work at high temperatures, provide first aid and transport to the nearest health facility of the affected persons or move, if possible, in other jobs. Employers can also reduce their work schedule for people with conditions that have contraindications to working in extreme temperatures. Prime Minister Florin Cîțu has again asked parents to immunize children
The COVID-19 pandemic can be overcomed only by vaccinating all family members, said Prime Minister Florin Câţu, who launched a new appeal to parents to immunize their children. He reminded that almost half of the students consider it important and very important to get vaccinated. The Prime Minister also said that the extent of a possible new wave of diseases could be limited by immunization and reminded that, now, the access to the vaccine is very simple. There are centers in stations and airports, and mobile teams reach small communities. Florin Cîțu also mentioned that the deadline of July 1 for the application of new measures to relax the restrictions is maintained. The coordinator of the National Vaccination Campaign, Valeriu Gheorghiță, underlined the importance of vaccinating children over 12 years old, during a meeting of government officials with students and parents. Almost 4,400,000 Romanians have done, so far, the complete anti-COVID immunization scheme, but, lately, the number of those who choose to get vaccinated is decreasing by less than 10,000 people who received the first dose or Johnson & Johnson single-dose serum in 24 hours./opopescu
