COVID tally in Romania
More than 12,000 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported yesterday across the country, just two days after the previous negative record. 176 COVID-associated deaths were also reported, most of them unvaccinated people, and two were children up to 9 years of age. The number of those arriving at the hospitals also continued to increase. There are currently over 12,000, 5,000 more than a week ago. 1,364 people receive care in Intensive Care units, and yesterday, in the whole country, only two beds were available at such units. asalar/opopescu

Nine people died in the fire at the ATI section of the Infectious Diseases Hospital Constanța
Another fire at a COVID hospital kills. The Department for Emergency Situations recently confirmed that nine people died in the fire, this morning, at the ATI section of the Infectious Diseases Hospital Constanța. The fire was since extinguished, the entire hospital was evacuated, 113 people were hospitalized, of which 10 were sick at the ATI. In a first reaction, the acting Health Minister, Cseke Attila, says that one of the priorities for the ministry is to provide beds for patients at other medical units. The fire was very strong, with large emissions of smoke and rescue teams from other counties were called for
