More than 1,000 Ukrainian citizens have applied for asylum in Romania since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Throughout the procedure, asylum seekers can benefit from accommodation in the centers of the General Immigration Inspectorate, if they request it, as well as from measures of material, financial, medical assistance, psychological and legal counseling. At the same time, they have access to the labor market and cultural adaptation activities.
