The foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank increased, in September, by more than five billion euros compared to the end of August; at the end of last month they had reached over 59 billion euros. The increase is mainly due to the replenishment of the accounts of the Ministry of Finance with the amounts resulting from the issuance of some Euro Bonds and transfers from the European Commission of the amounts related to the second tranche of the PNRR. The level of the NBR’s gold reserve remained at around 103 tons. Payments due in October in the account of the public debt amount to approximately 229 million euros.
