Agreement between Romanian government and health trade unions
Romanian health trade unions have reached a deal with the government on an average rise of 15 percent in their wages at a meeting on Monday. The move adds to the 5 percent indexation already approved since the beginning of the year. A two-stage increase is expected, according to leaders of Sanitas Trade Union Federation. However, there will be further talks between the government and trade unionists. And more, representatives of the Sanitary Solidarity Trade Union protested the move with trade union leader Viorel Rotilă explaining that the increase would only cover the basic salary with a rise in employees’ incomes by less than 14 percent. Further protests are expected in the next future.
