Romania supports Serbia’s European path, the Foreign Minister says

The Romanian Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu discussed with her Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric the process of Serbia’s accession to the European Union. She reiterated Romania’s well-known support for the European path of candidate countries from the Western Balkans and the Eastern neighborhood.
Luminita Odobescu: From our own experience, I emphasized the importance of proactive communication towards citizens about the benefits and responsibilities that are specific to the European integration process. Advancing to the next stages requires efforts, including in terms of human resources and administrative capacity, and therefore I reiterated Romania’s full support and our openness to offer relevant expertise to Serbia where needed.
In turn, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated that joining the European Union is a fundamental priority for his country. He emphasized the importance of the highway project that will connect Romania and Serbia.

The first 11 kilometers of the Moldavia Highway will be opened to traffic on Thursday

The first 11 kilometers of the Moldavia Highway will be opened on Thursday. This section is part the fourth lot of the highway and connects the towns of Mandresti, Munteni, and Focsani. It was built by a Romanian company owned by the businessman Dorinel Umbrarescu. Next week, additional kilometers of this highway will be opened to traffic, and by the end of the year a total of 130 kilometers are expected to be operational.

Police have detained 14 people for drug trafficking in Timisoara

Fourteen people, aged between 19 and 35, were detained in Timisoara on Wednesday for drug trafficking. Various quantities of cannabis and approximately 10 grams of psychoactive substance, portioned and packaged for sale, were seized during the raids. DIICOT prosecutors have notified the Timis Tribunal on Wednesday with a proposal for preventive arrest for 12 of the detained individuals, while judicial control has been ordered for the other two.
