Transgaz company to receive 180 million Euros for trans-European pipeline project
The European Union will allot nearly 180 million Euros to Transgaz company in Romania for works to the national system of natural gas transport, namely the development of a pipeline connecting Bulgaria and Austria via Romania and Hungary.
According to the European Commission, the member states have agreed to invest 220 million Euros in 15 key-projects of trans-European energy infrastructure, the largest amount to be obtained by the project involving the Romanian company Transgaz.
Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Caţete said the financing is aimed to improve gas and power delivery across EU by interconnecting networks all over Europe, Radio Romania reported.
President Iohannis welcomed the new Apostolic nuncio to Romania
President Klaus Iohannis has welcomed today the new Apostolic nuncio to Romania, Monsignor Miguel Maury Buendia for the presentation of diplomatic credentials. The new Apostolic nuncio met yesterday with Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Radio Romania reported.
Romania had one of the highest price decreases in the EU in 2015
Romania registered one of the highest price decreases in the EU last year, being surpassed only by Bulgaria. According to Eurostat, the annual inflation rate in Romania was situated at minus 0.7 percent in December. The Eurozone states have registered a 0.2 percent annual inflation rate in December, slightly higher against the previous month.
Comeback of annual inflation values to the positive side was favoured by European Central Bank’s program pumping 60 billion Euros into the markets every month in order to stimulate economic growth, Radio Romania reported.
Flagship station of the public radio continues to lead the relevant market
Radio România Actualităţi, the flagship station of the public radio continues to lead the national market in both urban and rural areas. The ratings for the last 4 months show that RRA has a 14.3% market share nationwide, 14.7% urban market share and 13,4% in Bucharest.
More than 4.5 million people listen to at least one of the public radio’s stations – Radio România Actualităţi, Radio România Cultural, Radio România Muzical, Radio România Antena Satelor, Bucureşti FM or regional stations which means the cumulated market share exceeds 30%. The public radio has also registered a slight increase concerning percentage of young audiences.
The study was conducted between August 31- December 20 2015 by IMAS Marketing and Polls and GFK Romania market research institute on a sample of 9.449 persons (7.400 coming from urban areas).
